How are users ranked?

Here at SageStats, we use an algorithm that takes into account many things when ranking handicappers. Unlike other sites, we don't just lazily tally up the units won and crown a champion; we know that people who bet smaller amounts can often be even better than those who bet larger amounts.

What does our algorithm take into account?

We're constantly tweaking our algorithm, so if we just wrote out an equation here, we'd be lying to you. But...we can tell you what is important:

  • Winning Percentage (higher is better)
  • Required Breakeven Winning Percentage (lower is better)
  • Number of bets placed (higher is better)
  • Units Won(higher is better)
  • Return on Investment(higher is better)
  • Other factors we haven't yet thought about
